The University Language Centre of Salerno (CLA) recently hosted “La giornata delle lingue” (Languages Day), an initiative aimed at celebrating linguistic diversity and promoting cultural exchange through workshops, activities and community engagement. The event marked an important moment for the University of Salerno, as it coincided with the introduction of the new CLA Director, Rosario Pellegrino, an important reference point for Neolaia at UNISA, and welcomed the new Rector, Professor Virgilio D’Antonio.

The Neolaia UNISA team attended the event and took part in several thematic workshops held across the CLA’s laboratories. Sessions covered languages taught at the Centre, including French, English, German, Russian, Spanish and Italian as a second language. Their participation highlights the university’s ongoing commitment to multilingualism, not only through institutional strategies, but also through initiatives that bring students, staff and international partners together in a shared learning environment.

The work of the UNISA University Language Centre in promoting multilingual education is supported by its participation in CercleS, the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education.
Through AICLU, which represents Italian university language centres within CercleS, UNISA is connected to a wide European network that fosters collaboration, the exchange of good practices, and joint development initiatives.

Overall, Languages Day showcased a dynamic and internationally engaged UNISA, where languages act as a bridge between cultures and as a key driver of academic growth, openness and European cooperation.
