On 19–20 May 2026, the NEOLAiA European University Alliance community gathered at Örebro University for its annual General Meeting, an important occasion for partners to exchange ideas and plan the next stages of the Alliance’s development.

During the meeting, representatives from the partner universities discussed the achievements made during the current funding period and explored the future prospects of NEOLAiA, with particular attention to the activities to be consolidated and the new initiatives to be developed in the next project cycle.

The two-day programme featured collaborative workshops focused on analysing the experiences gained across the different Work Packages. Participants shared best practices, identified key challenges, and reflected on the actions that have generated the greatest impact in terms of academic cooperation, engagement of the university community, and relationships with regional stakeholders.

The discussions also helped define strategic priorities for the transition phase and future European funding applications, further strengthening the participatory approach that characterises the Alliance.

The delegation from the University of Salerno included Professor Vittorio Scarano, NEOLAiA Project Coordinator for UNISA, Professor Abdelaziz Rhandi, Rector’s Delegate for Mediterranean Outreach, and Professor Alessandra Amendola, Delegate for Internationalisation.

The Örebro meeting provided an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration among European partners and to continue the shared journey towards a more inclusive, innovative, and socially engaged European University, capable of creating value for students, staff, regions, and society as a whole.
