Micro-credentials: University of Salerno working group meets

On Tuesday, 10 March 2026, UNISA’s microcredentials working group, composed of teaching and administrative staff from the University, met in the Biagio Agnes room. The meeting, opened by the Rector’s greetings, lasted about two hours and was an opportunity to discuss the prospects for the development and testing of microcredentials.

During the meeting, a number of key aspects were explored, including the definition of micro-credentials and how they differ from digital badges, as well as their place in the European context and the Europass system.

The next steps include a pilot phase involving actual university activities, such as programmes of excellence or innovative training initiatives, together with the definition of the release process and the technological aspects related to the platform.

The meeting concluded with a discussion among participants on outstanding issues and a commitment to continue the work in the coming months with further group meetings.
