On Thursday, 29 January at 11:00, a presentation on the progress of Work Package 3 Diversity & Inclusion within the NEOLAiA European University Alliance – Transforming Regions for an Inclusive Europe took place at Aula Biagio Agnes, University of Salerno.
The event provided an overview of the ongoing work of WP3, which focuses on overcoming barriers to participation and promoting inclusive policies and practices across NEOLAiA partner universities.
The presentation highlighted several key achievements, including:
- the development and official signing of the NEOCharter, the Alliance’s shared Diversity & Inclusion policy framework;
- the mapping of institutional D&I best practices through the NEOBest database;
- the launch of training activities for staff and students (NEOStaff and NEOMentors);
- the organisation and expansion of NEOlife events, aimed at engaging local and international communities around D&I topics.
Special attention was given to Task 3.6 (NEOAd), which involves external monitoring by the Alliance’s D&I Officer, supporting a sustainable and context-sensitive implementation of Diversity & Inclusion across partner institutions.
The meeting also outlined the next steps, including the upcoming workshop “Sharing D&I Best Practices” on February 19th, participation in international training activities, and the continued strengthening of UNISA’s contribution to NEOLAiA’s Diversity & Inclusion agenda.
