On 4 December 2025, as part of the NEOLAiA Plenary Meeting hosted by the University of Salerno, the monthly meeting of Work Package 9 (WP9) took place, focusing on digitalisation and technological innovation within the Alliance.
During the meeting, the University of Salerno provided an update on the adoption of the NEOLAiA Digital Identity, presenting progress on integration plans and proposed implementation strategies at alliance level.
An overview was also given of the infrastructure designed for the NEOLAiA Passport Platform, based on the European Digital Credential ecosystem and the European Digital Credential Library, enabling the issuing and management of European Digital Credentials within NEOLAiA.
The University of Jaén shared an update on the local deployment of the European Digital Credential infrastructure, highlighting technical progress and outlining the next implementation steps.
The meeting also included an in-depth discussion on the development of the NEOLAiA Virtual Campus, addressing its conceptual design and expected functionalities. In this context, the University of Nicosia presented updates on the development of the metaverse environment, focusing on its alignment with the Virtual Campus initiative, interoperability aspects and potential use cases.
The WP9 meeting reaffirmed its key role in supporting the digital transformation of the NEOLAiA Alliance through shared and forward-looking technological solutions.
