Strengthening Academic Ties through the NEOLAiA Alliance: Prof. Mathilde Gralepois Visits UNISA

We were delighted to welcome professor Mathilde Gralepois (Université de Tours – École Polytechnique Universitaire, Département Aménagement & Environnement) to UNISA for a week of collaboration and exchange.

Through the NEOLAiA Alliance, she connected with colleagues from the Civil Engineering Department to explore shared research interests in urban planning, sustainability, and the green transition. Guided by the department’s Urban Planning Laboratory (under the guide of Prof. Isidoro Fasolino) her visit also included a strategic cultural tour of the region, from Paestum and Pompeii to the Amalfi Coast, alongside visits to university facilities and departmental laboratories.

During the visit, Prof. Fasolino and Prof. Gralepois identified several concrete opportunities to establish a solid Erasmus+ agreement between engineering students from the Department of Planning & Environment in Tours and the DIVIC of UNISA.

In particular, this fruitful stay laid the groundwork for promoting student and staff mobility, developing joint initiatives such as the BIP project “Reframing the Waterline,” and strengthening cooperation through meetings with NEOLAiA Ateneo delegates.

Mathilde Gralepois, full professor of planning at the University of Tours in the School of Engineering, teaches in the Department of Planning & Environment.
