After the success of previous initiatives, NEOLAiA is preparing for another valuable educational event: the Focus Academy “Global Competencies and Multicultural Identity”, which will take place at the Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences (Lithuania) from 3 to 7 November 2025, with a preparatory online phase in October.
A Journey to Develop Global Competencies
The programme, designed for first-cycle students, will address key topics for those preparing to live and work in an increasingly interconnected world. Among the main themes:
- The enhancement of multicultural identities;
- The analysis of global competencies needed to successfully face the challenges of the labour market;
- Tools for the development of autonomous learning and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Through workshops, experiential activities, and innovative methodologies such as LEGO® Serious Play® and concept mapping, participants will be guided to reflect on themselves and to build concrete tools for their future careers.
UNISA’s Contribution
Once again, the University of Salerno will play a leading role: three undergraduate students from DISA-MIS will take part in the Focus Academy. In addition, Prof. Bice Della Piana and the UNISA WP2 team will be actively involved in both the online and on-site phases, contributing lectures and activities dedicated to multicultural identity and facilitating international student group work.
A Truly International Experience
The Focus Academy will provide a unique multicultural setting, with the participation of students, faculty, and stakeholders from all NEOLAiA partner universities. It will be an opportunity for personal and professional growth, to engage with diverse learning styles, and to discover how multicultural identities can become a valuable resource in both academic and professional contexts.
With this initiative, UNISA reaffirms its commitment to promoting innovative, international, and student-centered learning pathways.
