1. Could you briefly introduce yourself and describe your role at the University of Salerno?
I am an Associate Professor of Hygiene and Preventive Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Surgery and Dentistry “Scuola Medica Salernitana” at the University of Salerno, as well as the Scientific Director of the “Public Health Laboratory for the Analysis of Community Health Needs”.
2. When and where did you undertake the mobility? What motivated you to take part in this mobility experience?
The mobility programme took place from 5 to 8 May 2026 in Bielefeld, Germany. The aim was to learn about another university’s initiatives regarding inclusion and strategies for reasonable accommodation for people with disabilities working in any capacity for the university.
3. What did you find most enriching about the experience, both professionally and personally?
I particularly appreciated the approach taken to welcoming staff and creating dedicated, well-organised spaces for university employees.
4. How do you think you will be able to apply what you learned during the mobility experience to your work, whether in teaching, research or other activities?
I intend to apply what I have learnt through activities that can be replicated within the remit of the University’s Disability Manager, Dr. Giuseppina Moccia, who is based at the Public Health Laboratory and who took part in the mobility programme as a scientific and technological officer.
5. Would you advise your colleagues to take part in a mobility programme at NEOLAiA universities? If so, why?
It is certainly possible, through direct experience, to gain knowledge with insights that can be applied to our own situation.
