On September 11, 2025, the WP9 team at UNISA met with Dr. Ferrandino and Dr. Sparano from the technical offices and Dr. Piegari from the Planning and Development Office to review the progress on integrating digital badges and micro-credentials into the Esse3 platform.
UNISA is currently in contact with Cineca regarding the issuance of digital badges in Esse3, while for micro-credentials the team is exploring ways to simplify alignment with European standards (EDCI), in order to reduce the manual work required for credential issuance.
These steps mark an important development in UNISA’s path toward the digitalization of educational processes, with the goal of providing innovative, recognized, and interoperable tools at the European level to support both students and academic staff.
