On January 9th, 2025, the UNIC team – lead beneficiary of Work Package 9: Digital Transformation – announced the establishment of the NEOLAiA WP9 Metaverse Research Group.
The group brings together experts and representatives from partner universities, including the University of Salerno, with the goal of enhancing cooperation and sharing expertise in research and innovation related to the metaverse, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR).
The University of Salerno, an active WP9 partner and coordinator of the Digital Identity Mechanism activities, contributes to the group with its experience in digital transformation and VR/AR lab development.
Through dedicated meetings and joint work, the Metaverse Research Group will develop a shared analytical and methodological framework to guide the creation of metaverse-based Living Labs across NEOLAiA campuses.
This initiative represents a further step in the Alliance’s joint effort toward a human-centric, inclusive, and sustainable digital transformation.
