The NEOLAiA team of the University of Salerno has recently completed and published an essential dataset regarding the University’s degree programs for the 2023-24 academic year.
This work is the result of collaboration among all members of the WP8 team in NEOLAiA, who collected and shared data about the degree programs at their respective universities. Each partner created their own specific dataset for their university, and these datasets were then combined into one large dataset, which now provides a comprehensive overview of degree programs for the 2023-24 academic year across the universities involved in the NEOLAiA project.
The dataset serves as a valuable resource for students, researchers, and anyone interested in comparing the academic offerings of the project’s partner universities. This project not only facilitates access to detailed information about degree programs but also promotes academic transparency and international collaboration among universities.
A Complete and Useful Resource
The dataset includes various fields that offer a detailed overview of the degree programs, including:
- Degree Program Name: The specific title of each degree program.
- Program Type: The type of program (e.g., Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.).
- Department: The academic area or department to which the program belongs.
- National Classification: The official classification of the program.
- ISCED Code: The code that identifies the program according to the ISCED standard.
- Geographical Coordinates: The geographic location of the program.
- Number of Students: The number of students enrolled in the program.
An Example of International Collaboration
This dataset is not only a resource for users but also a significant example of how collaboration between universities can be made effective through data sharing and integration.
In addition to the degree program data, the dataset also contains information that allows a deeper understanding of students and demographic data related to the universities. One example is the in-depth analysis of student demographics at the University of Salerno, available in this article.
