From 4 to 8 May 2026, Bielefeld University hosted the “NEOstaff Week” focused on Diversity & Inclusion, organised within Task 3.3 of the NEOLAiA project. The initiative brought together representatives from the alliance partner universities to exchange practices and experiences related to gender equality, inclusion, accessibility, work-life balance, and staff wellbeing.

The University of Salerno was represented by Prof. De Caro and Dr. Moccia, members of the NEOLAiA HR Network within Task 4.2, accompanied by Dr. Laura Tufano, WP3 Task Force.

During the week, participants attended sessions dedicated to gender equality services, diversity-sensitive onboarding, family-friendly services, digital accessibility, and accommodations for staff and students with disabilities. A particularly valuable moment was the visit to Bielefeld University’s Accessibility Service (ZAB), where participants explored assistive technologies and practical solutions aimed at promoting inclusion and participation within higher education.

The staff week provided an important opportunity for networking and mutual learning among partner institutions. The UNISA representatives highlighted how several initiatives presented during the event were especially inspiring and could offer useful ideas for future developments at the University of Salerno, particularly in the areas of gender equality services and support measures for staff with disabilities.
