On Wednesday, June 12, an initial meeting was held with Dr Anna De Pascale and other members of the UNISA Statistical Office. The aim was to initiate a dialogue for the collection and organisation of data on students enrolled in the 2023/2024 academic year. The Office representatives offered their support for the project, making a structured collaboration possible. During the meeting, we were told that the data comes from the Esse3 portal and is very wide-ranging and heterogeneous. For this reason, we were asked to provide specific information on the fields and information to be collected, so that the data can subsequently be published in open data format. A new meeting will be scheduled as soon as we have defined the structure of the dataset and the specifications for each field more clearly.
